Andre Arlovski vs. Aleksander Emelianenko in boxing match? Not so fast!

Russian boxing managers were trying to arrange a boxing match between the two MMA fighters. However, according to an update at ValeTudo.ru, the September 30 date conflicts with another fight that Emelianenko has scheduled for the same date.

It was originally hoped that the match would appear on the preliminary card of "Vitali Klitschko with Manuel Charro".

Arlovski lost to Aleksander's older brother, MMA legend Fedor Emelianenko back in 2009. He is slated to face Soa Palelei at One FC 5 on August 31st 2012.

"A month ago I was in Moscow and met with the co-chairman of the championship battle for the WBC Mikhail Denisov. It sounded to me to make a proposal under the Professional Boxing vs. Alexander Emelianenko fight on the undercard of Vitali Klitschko vs. Manuel Charr on September 8. And we could have a possible fight be immediately before the main event of the evening. I immediately gave his consent, because a long time wanted to try his hand at professional boxing. I think it would be interesting to the Russian public. I can say that it would have been interesting to me because I speak on Russian market at such a great event - for me and for Alexander it would be cool."
