Cavalcante vs. Palomino represents just two among a card of familiar names. The event recruits Olympic wrestling gold medalist Alexis Vila, well-traveled middleweight Luis Santos (50-8), and the return of current undefeated CFA featherweight champ and inaugural featherweight tournament winner Jordan Parsons (7-0).
The CFA continues to take advantage of the large talent pool in the state of Florida, with powerhouse training camps like American Top Team and Imperial Athletics (a.k.a. "Blackzillians").
Win or loose against JZ, I expect Luis Palomino to drop back down to featherweight to face the winner of the 145 lb. title bout between Parsons and Lazar Stojadinovic.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE— A major heat wave will hit the BankUnited Center in Coral Gables, Fl. when Championship Fighting Alliance continues the legacy with CFA 07 “Never Give Up” on Saturday June 30, 2012. Miami favorite Luis “baboon” Palomino (19-7) will have the toughest challenge to date when he meets Dream and Strikeforce veteran Gesias “JZ” Cavalcante (16-5) in the main event, while CFA Featherweight champion and Michigan fighter Jordan “Pretty Boy” Parsons will make his first title defense against top Florida fighter Lazar Stojadinovic (7-5).
The fight card will also feature the return of Miami fighter and Bellator veteran Alexis Vila (11-2) as he will take on Joshua Sampo (6-2) in a bantamweight battle. Moreover, two lightweight bouts are scheduled to take place with Team Killa’s Abel Trujillo (8-4) battling Wisconsin fighter James “The Unbreakable Heavyhitter” Warfield and striker Alan Arzeno (6-5) wants to prove he is the best in Florida as he will fight top prospect Mike Trujillo (3-1). Additionally, a middleweight contest between Bellator veterans Valdir “Bebe Mostro” Araujo’s (10-3) and Luis “Sapo” Santos (50-8) and a featherweight war between Victor “Showtime” Delgado (6-0) and Sean Soriano (5-0) will round up the main card.
CFA 07 “Never Give Up” will be streamed live via www.cfafights.com. Additional fights scheduled for the event are expected to be released shortly.
“This is one of the most anticipated and incredible mma shows in Florida that is sure to excite Miami this June,” said CEO of CFA Jorge De La Noval. “With Gesias “JZ” Cavalcante making his CFA debut against Luis Palolmino there is no doubt in my mind there will be a spectacle to see. JZ will really test Palomino. There are no easy fights in CFA. Having Jordan Parsons defend his featherweight title against a top fighter like Lazar Stojadinovic and with the return of Alexis Vila versus Joshua Sampo I just can't be more excited as a CEO and a mma fan. It will be a summer night to remember. We value our production and quality of events that’s why we promise only the best and most entertaining fight card to our fans. That is why we are number one in Florida.”
Tickets for CFA 07 “Never Give Up” will go on sale to the general public soon. Fans may purchase tickets by visiting www.cfafights.com. CFA Underground Club members will be first to be notified of ticket sales. Fans may join the club by visiting www.cfafights.com. Looking to continue his winning streak of three fights, Palomino has asked for tougher opponents. Palomino defeated Warfield in April by unanimous decision. Well, in CFA there are “no easy fights” and that is why Cavalcante will step up to the plate to ruin Palomino’s home crowd support. The Brazilian fighter, Cavalcante, has fought against top notch fighters and has a respected resume in the fight game. He is the 2006 and 2007 K-1 Hero’s Middleweight tournament champion and holds victories against Bart Palaszewski, Vitor Ribeiro, Michihiro Omigawa, Caol Uno, Rani Yahya. Cavalcante, who holds seven submission victories, is coming off a defeat against Isaac Vallie-Flagg, so expect the Brazilian to provide fireworks in search of a victory. Palomino, a former CFA featherweight title, is an international mma fighter who holds a victory over The Ultimate Fighter contestant Jeremy May and has fought for Bellator. Under the CFA banner, Palomino has three victories and remains unbeaten in the company.
After defeating three men in the inaugural CFA Featherweight tournament, the flashy and outspoken Parsons defeated Danny Chavez at CFA 05 in a grueling five-round contest. Now, the young Parsons will have to defend his title for the first time against an experienced Stojadinovic. The Minnesota Martial Arts Academy champion wants to make a statement that although his career is fresh; he is a respected champion with incredible takedown artillery. Striker Stojadinovic wants to set the record straight that he doesn’t play the numbers game and that an attempted shot by Parsons will knock him out of gold. Stojadinovic defeated The Ultimate Fighter constant Matt Jaggers for the King of Cage featherweight title at only 18 years of age.
Vila shocked the world when he knocked out Bellator champion Joe Warren on his national television debut with only 1:04 in the first round. The wrestling Olympic Gold Medalist lost his past two fights, but he will get a chance to avenge the losses as he will battle Joshua Sampo. The Missouri fighter plans on pleasing Vila’s fans by knocking out the international superstar, but Cuban fighter will make sure to use his crowd power to get the home fans on their feet. Sampo has notable fights against UFC veteran Will Campuzano. Although 41 years-old, Vila wants a message to be delivered: “Age is nothing but a number”.
With almost 60 mma fights under his belt, Santos is on a two losing streak, but that doesn’t dim the light on the Sapo Fight Team fighter of his ownership of more than 20 knockouts and over 10 submission victories. Although he has a large margin of fights, MMA Masters product Araujo will welcome his foe to Miami with an impactful game plan in hopes of adding another "W" to his resume. Both Brazilians, who fought for Bellator, are sure to deliver a technical, yet an entertaining bout.
Known for a 9-winning streak, Warfield packs a hard punch as he challenged Palomino at CFA 06 to a close fight. But, now his experience will be unleashed against a young face, Trujillo. The Iowa wrestler also won at CFA 06 via stoppage against James Berto, but was booed out of the building after the controversial call by the referee. The Team Killa fighter wants to prove to CFA fans he is more than controversy, but a force to be reckoned with. It will be a striker versus grappler warfare surely to bring heat to the crowd.
Delgado has made a weight class change he believes is right for him, so he is calling the featherweight weight class his home. But, if he wants to reign king and get a possible title shot against Parsons he has to get through another undefeated and American Top Team standout Soriano. Delgado is still in search of a knockout as he has two wins by submission and the rest of victories are via decision. His foe is no stranger to domination as he carries three victories via knockout and two submissions.
