Dream FFJ/NYE - Bantamweight World Grand Prix Semifinals/Finals Preview

This year's Dream NYE show will feature semifinals and finals bouts for the Dream World Grand Prix. Coming off of the Dream 17 quarterfinals back in September, the advancing semifinalists will compete for the inaugural Dream bantamweight championship title.

The bantamweight tournament brings former 2009 Dream Featherweight GP competitors Masakazu Imanari and Bibiano Fernandes, back into the fold. Imanari, a former DEEP bantamweight and featherweight champion, enters the cage to face UFC/WEC veteran Antonio Banuelos. Banuelos comes off of a huge win over Dream Japan BW GP winner Hideo Tokoro in the opening round of competition. In the other bracket, Bibiano Fernandes, a former Dream FW champion, will toe the line against fellow Brazilian Rodolfo Marques Diniz, a vicious prospect with a 14-1 record.

Also, Hideo Tokoro vs. Yusup Saadulaev will host a tournament reserve bout. Tokoro defeated Masakazu Imanari to become the Dream Japan BW GP winner back in July. However, he was unable to stall the press of Antonio Banuelos in the opening round of the World GP. This time Tokoro will take on Yusup Saadulaev, a shining prospect from Russia with impressive wrestling and BJJ skills.

Here's the official preview vid from Dream. It includes footage from the quarterfinals round of the World GP.
