About the UFC's Latest Russian Signee, Habib Nurmagomedov...

Dana White quickly shot down any rumors of a bout between Cain Velasquez and Russian legend Fedor Emelianenko, but there's another Russian fighter who brings great potential to the Octagon.

The UFC recently signed three-time World Combat Sambo Champion Habib Nurmagomedov to a 6-fight contract. The lightweight fighter is undefeated at 16-0 with all of his contests having taken place in Russia. Nurmagomedov will make his UFC debut against Kamal Shalorus at UFC on Fox 1 or "UFN 26" on January 26.

According to MMAWeekly, Nurmagomedov will take up training with the AMA Fight Club in New Jersey:

Nurmagomedov recently signed on with Mike Constantino, the head of MVC Sports Management as well as the lead trainer at AMA Fight Club, where fighters like Jim Miller, Dan Miller and Charlie Brenneman train as well. The team has added several European imports lately including Adlan Amagov, who fights in Strikeforce Challengers this Friday as well.

Here's Nurmagomedov fighting Said Khalilov at ProFC Cup 14 back in April. He hits a nasty kimura at the 3:12 mark:
