Alistair Overeem has options and a UFC Heavyweight Title might be one of them

It's been a few weeks since Alistair was dubiously "cut" from the Strikeforce roster, and those few weeks have been some of the most difficult of my entire life (almost as difficult as the death of Optimus Prime).

In the aftermath of Golden Glory-gate, I found myself in a state of deep depression, worrisome, down in the dumps. At my lowest point, I found myself in a chicken coop, lost, semiconscious, and half naked. But a glimmer of light shone through the clouds when news came that Alistair Overeem  was still under contract with Forza, the Zuffa-owned parent company of Strikeforce. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm an Alistair Overeem fan regardless of what promotion he fights under, but for Overeem the UFC is unfinished business...

More after the break...

As it stands, Overeem is still the Strikeforce Heavyweight Champion. So, we could see Strikeforce pair 'Reem against the winner of the Heavyweight Grand Prix. Or, Strikeforce could belt the GP winner as the new Strikeforce Heavyweight Champion, and promote Overeem to greener pastures -- the UFC. With the later option Overeem becomes an important part of Strikeforce's transition into Zuffa's B-level promotion (despite what the majority believes Zuffa is not folding Strikeforce, but some of Strikeforce's more elite talent will cross over into the UFC -- Mano-a-Mano is hot on this issue).

Bottom line folks: Overeem wants an immediate title shot. The fans would love to see him get one. Dana White, Ed Soares -- make it happen!!!
