Alistair Overeem Talks Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix, Antonio Silva, Fedor, Boxing Vitali Klitschko, and Other Cool Topics [Video]

The idea of Alistair Overeem entering the boxing ring to face WBC Heavyweight Champ Vitali Klitschko has intrigued fans over the past few days. Overeem first mentioned a possible foray into boxing last week. He mentioned Vitali Klitschko as a fighter he would like exchange blows with.

In this interview with Polish "Boxing News," Overeem answers questions on range of topics (condensed transcription below).

Overeem on Polish middleweight/light heavyweight standout Mamed Khalidov:
"...He has a great personality. It was a pleasure to work with him. He has a good record and is the one who can make the difference in Polish MMA."
On what to expect in Strikeforce Heavyweight GP semifinal bout against Antonio 'Bigfoot' Silva:
"I think people always want to bring me to the ground, but he's also a little bit of a stand-up guy. So, I think he's going to do both. I'm going to be ready for anything he tries."
Who he thinks will win/will like to face from Josh Barnett and Sergei Kharitonov's Strikeforce HW GP semifinal bout:
"Sergei Kharitonov is my teammate. I already beat him once, he beat me once, so we're one-one. Josh Barnett, I never had the opportunity to fight hhim so it would be good to fight Josh Barnett... They have different styles... Kharitonov is better in the stand-up, Josh Barnett is better on the ground... So, it's going to be a very interesting fight. Of course, I'm rooting for Sergei Kharitonov to win... So, it could go either way, it's 50/50."
On fighting Fedor:
"...The fight isn't interesting anymore. He lost his last two fights. He declined on two occassions to fight me..."
After the Strikeforce HW GP -- boxing Klitschko???
"...I think it (boxing) matches my personality. I'm always looking for a challenge.... I'm a K-1 champion... It would be cool to go to boxing and beat the main guy there... I know if you give me good sparring partners, which I can arrange, I can fix that. With my background in K-1 already I can break some bones..."
