Why Gina Carano is Jorge Masvidal's Favorite Female Fighter

Gina Carano out, Masvidal vs. Noons in.

Gina Carano's withdrawal from the June 18 Strikeforce event, due to lack of medical clearance, bumped a lightweight title eliminator between Jorge Masvidal and KJ Noons up to the show's main card.

Carano was scheduled to face Sarah D'Alelio(6-1) in her first fight following a a year and a half long hiatus from the sport. As expected the rumor mill is churning with Carano speculations -- we're talking prego, and not the spaghetti sauce.

Meanwhile, Jorge "Gamebred" Masvidal is excited about the opportunity to stand toe-to-toe with Noons on the main card. His fight with Noons was previously ticketed for the prelims. When I reached Masvidal last week he did express some dissatisfaction with the situation but was nonetheless ready to do work. I caught up with Mr. Masvidal last night to receive a short, but clearly ecstatic message from "Gamebred:"

"Gina just became my favorite female fighter lol.."

And while Gina Carano plays covert operatives in action films, Jorge Masvidal gets his ass kicked plays video games about them.

Jorge Masvidal, JZ Calvacante, Alexis Vila, and Jorge Santiago have teamed up with filmmaker Isaac Kesington a.k.a. 'Genghis Con,' to present the guy-style internet series Miami Hustle. In the first episode Gamebred shows "what he's good at."
