UFC 129 Leftovers & Party Crashing Notes

I am now officially the neighbor that everybody hates. Last night I crashed one of my neighbors' UFC parties. After the Facebook prelims ended, my usually nonexistent financial instincts kicked in, and I began to reconsider the negative effects that purchasing another PPV event could have on my recession-burdened money situation.

So, I took to the street. I walked down the block a ways, searching for anything that might indicate a UFC gathering within the neighboring homes. Then, I noticed a house about three houses down that had four or five cars parked outside -- big, four-wheel drive trucks that could only mean the presence of testosterone driven, fight hungry dudes. Without hesitation, I knocked on the door, and was welcomed in by my neighbor that I never really talk to much (but trust, I will much more from now on). The rest is history. I watched Jose Aldo impregnate Mark Hominick's skull for five rounds for free.

Some quick notes:
  • Randy Couture said he didn't want to go out like Chuck Liddell. Well, I sure hope he has the same Medicare/retiree's health insurance plan that Chuck had. He'll need it to rehabilitate fom the Steven Seagal-taught foot-eating that Lyoto Machida kindly delivered in a mere one minute and five seconds.
  • As noted above, Mark Hominick became the first to give birth to a softball through his skull, thanks to one Jose Aldo. But, I can't say this without pointing out that Mark Hominick is a straight up soldier!!!
  • All hail John Makdessi for his rebirth of the spinning backfist. I'm sure Chuck Lidell was thoroughly impressed.
  • Vladimir Matyushenko is still the friggin' man!!! Thanks for shortening the wait up to the big fights.
  • Nate Diaz needs to get his head out of his ass. If he doesn't start cranking out more consistent wins, Nate might live out his career as one of the most talented fighters to never fight for a title. Nevertheless, props to Rory MacDonald in his comeback match.
  • Jason MacDonald needed his win over Ryan Jensen, because you know without it, he'd be back in shows like the MFC, where stocks are low.
