Superior Challenge 7 Results & Leftovers

In the SC 7 main event middleweight title bout, Thales Leites defeated Jeremy Horn in a close decision on the judge's scorecards. With a victory over the busiest man in MMA is Leites back on track to earn his ticket back to Zuffa land? Props to Leites... Cool. Okay. Moving on...

There's another bout that deserves just as much attention. Swift up-and-comer Reza "Maddog" Madadi, secured a tight, controversial unanimous decision victory over Rich Clementi to take home the previously vacant Superior Challenge 7 Lightweight Title. Despite the controversy, I believe it's safe to describe the outcome as an upset, as Madadi defeated a much more experienced opponent in UFC/Bellator vet Rich Clementi. With the win, the Iranian Swede improves to 11-2 and carries a six-fight win streak which includes wins over solid veterans Carlo Prater and Junie Browning in his previous two bouts.

SC 7 featured several other familiar international names -- Bruno Carvalho, who currently rides a 9-fight win streak, Daniel Acacio, who is trending a back-to-back loss pattern in his last six outings but pulled off a decision win to become the first Superior Challenge Welterweight Champion, and elite gymnast/body fitness athlete Lina Eklund, who won in her pro MMA debut.

Rich Clementi talks about the controversial decision in his loss to Reza "Maddog" Madadi.
