Road FC 2: "Alive" Results and Leftovers -- Is Road on the road to success???

If the title caught your attention, then I'm doing a good job, but to answer your question on a more serious note, the real answer is maybe, potentially, possibly -- yes...

The South Korean promotion staged their second show earlier today in Seoul. Pride/UFC veteran Dennis Kang squeaked past a game Eun Soo Lee in a light heavyweight headliner. Bringing a familiar name like Kang to Road FC is critical. The Canadian fighter is a former heavyweight champion of the now defunct South Korean MMA promotion, Spirit MC (note: Spirit MC entered a partnership deal with another defunct MMA organization, American promotion Elite XC -- failure begats failure).

With Spirit MC out of the picture, Road FC hopes to pave a new road in Korean MMA. However, in a market that has proven unsuccessful for Korean mixed martial arts, the course could be difficult. There's always seemed to be a dark loud hovering over KMMA. A full narrative of unpleasant happenings underscores the KMMA scene, with everything from nightclub deaths to the unfortunate, yet too common unpaid fighter situation highlighting the storyline. All this, and not to mention a very shallow talent pool.

Yet still, there could be a shimmer of light peering through those dark clouds -- South Korea's economic outlook is on the up. Economic growth rates have fallen since last year, but experts still expect "sustainable" growth. This plus Road's ambitious business plan -- paying their fighters in advance and building their own stadium --  could make a recipe for success for Road FC.
