MMA Scoop of the Century: Zuffa buys Strikeforce!!!

This might be the biggest news since Lil' Wayne's prison release. The mixed martial arts landscape will never be the same.

The UFC's parent company, Zuffa, just purchased Strikeforce, and I my head is still spinning. I don't know what to make of this news. However, what I have made of it so far, is that "it will be business as usual." What I've gathered from Ariel Helwani's interview with Dana White (below) is that this deal is strictly business. The UFC and Strikeforce have a contract that does not include any cross promotional activity. Dana still runs the UFC, Scott Coker still runs Strikeforce. Yes, there will be some changes, but the bottom line is that both promotions will still operate as two separate entities -- at least that's what we're hearing. But, if we know Dana White, we know that anything is subject to change.
