KSW 15: Revenge Preview

Walka! (Fight!)

Konfrontacja Sztuk Walki's (KSW) upcoming "KSW 15: Revenge" is bound to put Warsaw on the map of fight sport places to go, right next to Vegas and Thailand. Okay, it might not be The Thrilla in Manila, but this is definitely a card that deserves some attention. Just take look at the main event -- Polish middleweight standout Mamed Khalidov is slated to face Thales Leites, a former UFC middleweight title contender. Khalidov is the reigning KSW light heavyweight champion. Nineteen of his victories are early stoppages. Meanwhile, Thales Leites replaces Matt Lindland, who is out with a hand injury. Leites is a battle-tested BJJ black belt who's submission skills are a threat to anyone he faces. Simply put, this bout speaks fireworks.

Then, in lightweight action Maciej Gorski and Niko Puhakka will meet in the championship round of the KSW Lightweight Tournament. Shotokan black belt Maciej Gorski rides a three-fight win streak entering the fight, while Puhakka, an M-1 veteran, looks to notch a second win since dropping a decision to Luiz Azeredo last October. His most recent victory, a rear naked choke submission, came against Croatian "Terror" Ivica Truscek via at Fight Festival 29 in January.

Also, the KSW welterweight tourney boasts two top prospects gunning for championship gold. Aslambek Saidov (9-2), a rising Polish welterweight, will meet German fighter Ruben Crawford who, at 8-1, carries a nasty eight fight win streak -- all early stoppages.

Talk about explosive! And with the UFC making plans for a Scandinavian debut later this year, you can bet Zuffa personnel will have eyes and ears close to the action, looking for new Dennis Siver-like European talent.
