Japan Earthquake, Tsunami, JMMA Updates

Okay, this is a big deal...

Japan has been on my mind over the past couple of days as I learned of Shooto's latest scandal and the near end of Sengodu due to major sponsorship issues. My original goal for this week was to post a comprehensive run-down of the JMMA going-ons. However, my attention has shifted, as I am sure yours has, to the tragic series of earthquakes and tsunami that have devasted large areas on the eastern coast of Japan.

Obviously, at this point, MMA in Japan is not a priority. However, the lives and welfare of the fighters that make up the JMMA scene as well as Japan and the Asian Pacific are. I have taken to Twitter for updates from Japanese fighters, media personnel, and personalities. For your convenience, I have posted a Twitter feed box of MMAFighting.com writer Dan Herbertson's tweets in my sidebar to keep up with the latest disaster crisis updates. Additionally, this weekend's Pancrase, Shooto, and Jewels events scheduled for this weekend have been canceled.

Lastly, I would like to take a moment to encourage all readers to cling to their respective faiths and offer prayers for the people of Japan, the Asian Pacific, and generally anyone who might be affected by the disaster and ongoing aftershocks in Japan.
