Fight for the Troops 2 boosts UFC Facebook fans

Despite fans' complaints of poor video stream quality, the UFC's Facebook webstream of preliminary bouts for "Fight for the Troops 2" still provided a big boost to their Facebook fan numbers. The UFC jumped from 4,559,411 fans the (Friday) night before to 4,610,070 by Sunday night. That's over fifty-thousand "likes" in just two days.

From the official UFC Facebook fan page to Dana White's Twitter account, social networking has been a critical aspect of the UFC's marketing scheme. It will be very interesting to see what digital trick Zuffa will pull out of its sleeve next.
