Deep 52 a step up for Yoshiyuki Nakanishi

With four fights drafted so far on Deep's upcoming "Impact 52" card, the outlook for the Japanese promotion in 2011 couldn't be better. Despite setbacks elsewhere on the JMMA landscape, Impact 52 continues a successful tradition for the long-standing promotion.

On the card, Yoshiyuki Nakanishi will drop from 205 lbs. to make his middleweight debut, taking on a far more experienced Ryuta Sakurai. The bout will be Nakanishi's first real test. Nakinishi is currently 9-1. He is undefeated in Deep action with his only loss coming to Tatsuya Mizuno under the M-1 banner. In recent outings, Nakanishi has faced the challenge of experience as he knocked down French standout Christian M'Pumbu, and Pancrase Garo representative Ryuta Noji for the Deep light heavyweight title.

However, Ryuta Sakaurai presents an entirely new challenge. Nakanishi will be taking his ten pro career bouts up against Sakurai's forty-plus. If Nakanishi can clear the Sakaurai hurdle he could easily find himself challenging Riki Fukuda for the Deep middleweight title.
