Quarrel Quotable: Pedro Rizzo Looks to Make Return to Octagon

Pedro Rizzo hopes to compete in the UFC octagon once again.  The former UFC heavyweight title contender racked up notable wins over Josh Barnett, Andre Arlovski, and Dan Severn among others over his seven year span with the organization. Rizzo has spent most of his post-UFC career fighting as a free agent.  He is currently scheduled to face another former UFC heavyweight in Tim Sylvia at Powerhouse World Promotion's next "War on the Mainland" fight card. Sylvia currently holds the PWP heavyweight title. An official date for the event has yet to be determined. Meanwhile, UFC president Dana White has pointed out that the winner of the Rizzo-Sylvia bout could secure a UFC contract.

Rizzo as quoted in a recent "Graciemag" interview:
“As the date hasn’t been set, it’s just a verbal agreement, so I’m getting back to light training. But I want to have a good performance. Who knows? Maybe I’ll manage a return to the UFC. I feel really comfortable fighting in that Octagon. I feel leaving there was the biggest mistake of my career, my great regret."
