Prospect Lens: Featherweights Zac George and Nazareno Malegarie

The market is wide open for the lighter weight divisions now that the WEC has officially been absorbed into the UFC. With that considered, MMA Hotwire continues to expose top prospects in the flyweight, bantamweight, and featherweight divisions. Today, we present two promising fighters in IFL veteran Zac George, and undefeated Brazilian Nazareno Malegarie.

Zac George
Zac George is a veteran of the now defunct IFL. He carries a 20-3 record of which seventeen of his victories are early stoppages. George is an experienced combat sportsman. He was an Oklahoma state high school wrestling qualifier in 1999, and won the 2002 IKF US National Amateur Championships in the super lightweight division. He currently trains with Team Quest in Portland, Oregon, and has competed at both the featherweight and lightweight divisions. George has won titles in the International Fighting Organization and Seven Feathers Resort promotions. He also earned 2007 "Fighter of the Year" honors from C3 Fights.

Nazareno Malegarie
Nazareno Malegarie sports an impressive 19-0 record with a whopping eighteen early stoppages. His professional career, to date, has been fought exclusively on Brazilian soil. Malegarie's undefeated record has already generated an internet buzz, with many board posters touting him as a top candidate for big stage promotions. Malegarie trains out of UFC lightweight Thiago Tavares' Double Attack Academy in Florianopolis, Brazil, where he trains alongside Tavare's himself and fellow top prospect Ivan Jorge (14-2).
