Prospect Lens: Doug Lima

Douglas Lima is blazing the trail to a big stage contract. Riding a four fight win streak, the American Top Team-Atlanta member is surely one of the hottest welterweight prospects on the pro-circuit. Lima is currently 16-4. He won his last fight with a surprise submission upset over MFC posterboy Ryan Ford at MFC 26 in September, foiling Ford's plans for a MFC welterweight title run, as the bout was Ford's promotional return. Now Lima finds himself in the title contention seat, and is set to face Bellator Fighting Championships veteran Jesse Juarez for the vacant MFC welterweight strap at MFC 27, this Friday, November 12. In an effort to improve his fight resume, last week Lima participated in tryouts for the UFC's thirteenth season of "The Ultimate Fighter". TUF 13 contestants have yet to be announced. Meanwhile, the upcoming MFC 27 card will also feature Doug's little brother, Dhiego Lima (3-0) who will take on Bill Fraser (3-1) in a 175 catchweight bout.

Maximum Fighting Championships 27: "Breaking Point" will air Friday, November 12 at 10pm ET, on HDNet.
