Mexican Fighters Carry on the Warrior Spirit in "Sangre Nueva"

Filmmaker Bobby Razak is well on his way to an Oscar short films nomination. Razak, who is known for his varioius commercials and short films dedicated to fight lifestyle and culture, recently released the trailer for one of his future releases, "Sangre Nueva," or "New Blood," which delves into the history and tradition of Mexican Fighters. The film pays homage to the warrior spirit that characterized the ancient ancient Mayans and Aztecs, presenting Mexican fighters like former WEC bantamweight champion Miguel Torres, Strikeforce lightweight champion Gilbert Melendez, and UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez as modern day warriors who carry on the Mexican fighting tradition. In the trailer, popular cutman Jacob "Stitch" Duran breaks down the transition of Mexican boxers to MMA and the ever-growing presence of Mexicans in the sport. "Sangre Nueva" went into production in 2009, and is currently in post-production. An official release date has not yet been announced.
