DaMMAge Fight League: "The Big Bang" Results

Last night DaMMAge Fight League rang in the holiday weekend, hosting its first event, "DFL 1: The Big Bang." The event marked the first pro show for long-time Asylum Fight League amateur MMA promoter Carl Mascarenas, and featured a handful of notable names on the card. In the main event, star female mixed martial arts fighter Tara LaRosa fought in front of a home crowd, defeating former Smackgirl middleweight champion Takayo Hashi in a hard-fought five rounder to take home the DFL women's super flyweight title. The co-headliner featured two Ring of Combat vets in lightweights Chris Liguori and John Salgado. Chris Liguori, a former ROC lightweight champion and Ricardo Almeida student, routed a definitive unanimous decision over John Salgado. In heavyweight action, UFC veteran Branden Lee Hinkle used an early takedown to set up a ground-and-pound situation, leading to a first round TKO over fellow UFC vet Kevin Jordan. Another UFC veteran, lightweight Rafaello Oliveira made easy work of Kevin Roddy, submitting the Pelligrino MMA representative by way of first round rear naked choke. The win is Oliveira's second in a row since his UFC departure earlier this year.
