Strikeforce-Bellator Saga Continues: Is Bjorn Rebney PRing, or is Scott Coker Lying?

Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker appeared on yesterday's edition of's "Savage Dog Show". In a discussion about the status of a Strikeforce-Bellator co-promoted event and allegations by Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney that he attempted to contact Coker, here's part of what Coker told hosts Jeff Sherwood and TJ De Santis:

"...It's very obvious to me he's using the media as a platform to try to do his business, but that's not how we're going to do business," Coker said. "If he wants to do business, call me or fly out here, come sit down with me. If there's a deal to be made, we'll try to make it, but I'm not going to do it in the media. That's for sure."

Bjorn Rebney claims that he has text messaged Scott Coker directly about the prospect of a co-promotional event. Bellator's PR team forwarded cell phone screen shots of alleged Bjorn-to-Coker text messages to

The cell phone screet shots as published by Bloody Elbow:

At this point the Coker-Rebney situation has become a back-and-forth, one's word against the other's, sparring match. I personally would like to see some MMA element such as the Savage Dog Crew, the staff at Bloody Elbow, or Inside MMA step in and invite the two CEO's to discuss the issue together with a mediating party present. The odds of that happening? Who knows? In the meantime, we'll continue to keep you posted with the latest developments in the Strikeforce-Bellator/Coker-Rebney situation.
