Dream 16 Promo Update

FEG is still pumping Dream 16. Despite mass criticism over financial difficulties, the Japanese MMA freight train moves forward. Shinya Aoki has been added to the loaded fight card which already boasts a potential clash of the Titans war between Jason 'Mayhem' Miller and  legendary Pride alum Kazushi Sakuraba. Aoki is slated to put his lightweight title on the line against UFC and Pride veteran Marcus Aurelio (20-8).

Also, Gegard Mousasi and Tatsuya Mizuno will meet in the Dream Light Heavyweight Grand Prix Final to determine the first Dream Light Heavyweight Champion. Meanwhile, newly crowned Bellator Featherweight Champion Joe Warren will return to Japan to face Michihiro Omigawa. Warren is still reeling off a historic battle with former Bellator Featherweight Champion Joe Soto, while Omigawa looks to maintain a four fight win streak. Omigawa has won seven of his last eight bouts, including a storybook three win run in the Sengoku Featherweight Grand Prix in which Omigawa delivered featherweight/bantamweight standout Marlon Sandro his first loss. But, you'd never get any of this from the promo vid that is owned by the Miller-Sakuraba superfight.

Let's just hope, for Japan's sake, that there's enough media buzz over Dream 16 to convince potential Chinese investor PUJI Capital to throw that life-saving and much needed $230 million their way. As for the fighters, let's hope there's a check cashing store right across the street from the venue. It might be 'first come, first get,' and a few bounced purse checks if the FEG account is still running on empty.
