Tim Kennedy vs. Trevor Prangley spells all-out WAR!!!

Tomorrow evening (Wednesday, June 16, 2010), Strikeforce sets the stage for yet another star-studded night of fights. Zaromskis, Noons, Lawler, Babalu, and Cyborg (minus one, Charles 'Krazyhorse' Bennet) represent the more popular MMA names that will be presented on Thurday night's card.

Yet, there's one pair of names that stands overshadowed by the others -- Kennedy vs. Prangley. This meeting of two experienced middleweight fighters may not live up to the LA-Hollywood fan appeal but from a cage perspective this is a matchup the spells "WAR!"

The breakdown . . .

In the blue corner, Tim Kennedy:

Tim Kennedy (11-2) is a force to be reckoned with. Despite a mere total thirteen fights, Kennedy brings experience from the WEC, HD Net Fights, and IFL promotions. He holds noteable wins over MTV's "Bully Beatdown" host and MMA standout Jason 'Mayhem' Miller (a loss that was later avenged by Miller), and a submission win over former middleweight champion of the now defunct IFL, Ryan McGivern.

Kennedy also serves in the U.S. Army Special Forces and is a Bronze Star Medal recipient. It's obvious to anyone who has witnessed any of Kennedy's fights that he brings the 'Warrior Spirit' to the cage.

Kennedy's Strenghts:
Kennedy is a strategic fighter, generally regarded as a striker. From his feet, Kennedy works angles when striking and can work inside or from the perimeter.

Kennedy's Weaknesses:
Kennedy has held his own on the ground but lacks competitive skill from the guard position. If Prangley is able to create a ground-and-pound situation, this is where he could dominate the match.

In the red corner, Trevor Prangley:

Trevor Pragley might be one of the most experienced but under-exposed mixed martial artists in the game. At 22-5-1, Prangley is one who's been around in the sport. He's collected wins in the UFC, Bodog Fights, and Canada's big show, Maximum Fighting Championships, where he secured their Light Heavyweight Championship Title last year.

Prangley's Strenghts:
South Africa born, Prangley comes from an outstanding wrestling background -- one which has translated well into a successful MMA career. Trevor is strong in the clinch, especially in the over-under, and he won't hesitate to bring a fight to the canvas.

Prangley's Weaknesses:
While Trevor Prangley is a strong wrestler he can also duke it out. However, Prangley has a tendancy to expose his chin when attempting to maintain a striking match with strikers. If he doesn't keep that chin tucked against a tactical striker like Tim Kennedy, it could be lights out for Trev.
