Tonight Healy is scheduled to hit the canvas with former Strikeforce Lightweight titleholder, Josh 'The Punk' Thomson at Strikeforce: "Fedor vs. Werdum." The bout is expected to set the stage for possible contention in Strikeforce's lightweight division, in which world ranked lightweight, Gilbert Melendez holds the title. However, before any title challenges can be considered, Healy has already announced his desire to fight former Elite XC Lightweight Champion KJ Noons.
The embedded video shows Healy's debut match in the Maximum Fighting Championships (MFC). Healy defeated Ryan Ford via arm bar submission for the MFC Welterweight belt. The two would later meet again at MFC 20, with Healy again being the winner, this time via split decision.
Their first meeting at MFC 17 earned "Fight of the Week" honors from HDNet's Inside MMA. Healy championed his way back from a treacherous ground-and-pound situation to secure an elbow-wrenching arm bar.
